Seismic Site Characterization
CORE GeoEngineering offers in-house shear wave velocity (Vs) testing using Refraction Microtremor (ReMi) methods to meet the site-specific seismic analysis requirements of ASCE 7-22, the 2025 Oregon Structural Specialty Code, and IBC 2024.
Under current building codes, default site class assumptions are increasingly restricted. Site-specific Vs30 measurements are now required for many projects to determine accurate seismic site classification and develop multi-period response spectra (MPRS) for structural design.
ReMi testing can be integrated into standard geotechnical investigations or performed as a standalone service for structural engineers, geotechnical consultants, and building departments requiring code-compliant seismic site characterization.
•Site-Specific Vs30 Profiling for ASCE 7-22 Compliance
•Seismic Site Class Determination (A through F)
•Data for Site-Specific Ground Motion Hazard Analysis
•1D and 2D Shear Wave Velocity Modeling
