These include major national homebuilders, commercial developers, educational institutions, state and federal transportation initiatives, federal and state bridge replacements, quarries, recycling facilities, industrial ports, as well as single-family homes and recreational land developments. CORE maintains professional Registered Geologist, and Certified Engineering Geologist registrations in Oregon and Washington. The firm has strong working relationships with local civil engineering firms, architects, subsurface exploration companies, geologists, geotechnical engineers, and earthworks contractors across both states.

Ben has been practicing engineering geology since earning his degree in geology from the University of Oregon in 2002. He is a licensed Registered Geologist and Certified Engineering Geologist in both Oregon and Washington. Over the course of his career, Ben has contributed geotechnical expertise to more than 3,500 projects, guiding them from the initial planning stages through to successful completion and occupancy.
Ben's areas of specialization include geotechnical site assessment and investigation, geologic hazard evaluation, quantitative slope stability analysis, foundation bearing capacity assessment, infiltration testing, geotechnical construction monitoring, and materials testing.

Garrett Leatham joined CORE GeoEngineering in 2025 as a Field Technician and Laboratory Assistant. His responsibilities include assisting with field investigations, construction monitoring and materials testing, as well as conducting laboratory analysis of soil properties in CORE’s geotechnical lab. His attention to detail and commitment to quality contribute to the success of our projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.
